It is important to remember that tattoos are permanent so taking the time before actually getting a tattoo is very important to prevent disappointment.

Here is a quick guide to help you decide which type of tattoo is best for you.

The first place to start is to ask yourself why you want a tattoo, is it for sentimental reasons, decorative or to express a part of yourself or as a reminder or an event or person.

Next look at existing tattoo designs for an idea of size and location of your future tattoo. The internet is full of images of tattoos is an excellent resources for getting an idea of what you want your tattoo to look like. If for example you want a sentimental tattoo search for this type of tattoo, look at the size of other peoples tattoos, where they are on their bodies. You will then have an idea of where you want yours and how large or small you want it to be.

Once you have this information and have an idea of the size and location you want your tattoo, use a pen and draw a circle or square on that part of your body. This will give you an idea if the size and location is right for you. If you are not 100% sure on the size or location then you can easily wash the pen off and try other areas and sizes until you are happy.

Now you have the location and approximate size of your tattoo in mind its time to look for a design. Keep looking at other peoples existing tattoos and keep images of ones you like, or even parts of tattoos you do and do not like. With this you can take them to a tattooist and create a design that you love.

Acne – the Bane of Youth

Growing up can be a fun and wonderful experience.  However, there may be some aspects of growing up that can be a real challenge, and these usually occur around puberty, and every so often trouble many young people well into adolescence.  One common challenge that many teenagers and adolescents face is acne and it is something that is never pleasant and never welcome.

Truth is, acne can sufferers can be of all ages, but the physical and hormonal changes that occur when we grow up and our bodies undergo changes make us much more prone to acne, and more likely to suffer from it.

Our skin contains pores and these can often become clogged by dirt or by a substance called sebum which is produced by our skin glands.  Acne is caused by bacteria trapped in these blocked pores.  Teenagers tend to produce a lot more sebum and this can lead to acne, especially if coupled with poor hygiene.

Acne is however very common all around the world, and because of this, scores of different treatments have been developed. Advice on which treatment is best for you should be sorted.  As well as trained professionals, adults including parents may well be able to offer a good solution, especially if they too have faced the same problem in their younger years.  Perhaps one or both of your parents also suffered from acne when they were your age.

Acne rarely goes away by itself.  It’s important to try to treat it before it has the chance to develop and to keep a close eye on all aspects of daily hygiene that could cause acne to become worse.
